Custom Software for Automated Test

LabVIEW Tip

Page Labels Display

I stumbled across this feature in LabVIEW recently.  It is the page label display for the tab control.  This is built into the tab control.

What this is an enum you can select what tab you want displayed.  This is useful if you don't want to display the tabs or if you have a lot of tabs.

This is a screenshot of the tab control with the tabs disabled.  And the tab control color set to transparent.

You can access this feature by right clicking on the tab and selecting Page Labels Display.

What I like to do with tabs is use a system list box to select the tabs.  You can wire the list box into the tab control.  You do have to make the tab control an indicator for this to work.

‍South East Michigan LabVIEW User Group Recap

‍We had a great meeting on August 7th.  Sergio Velderrain from NI gave a presentation on the current state of NI and LabVIEW.  We had a tour of the new NI innovation center which was impressive.

If you want to voice concerns or propose priorities for LabVIEW you can email Sergio or Elli directly.

‍NASA’s Ingenuity Mars Helicopter Team Says Goodbye … for Now

‍Engineers working on NASA’s Ingenuity Mars Helicopter assembled for one last time in a control room at the agency’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California on Tuesday, April 16, to monitor a transmission from the history-making helicopter. While the mission ended Jan. 25, the rotorcraft has remained in communication with the agency’s Perseverance Mars rover, which serves as a base station for Ingenuity. This transmission, received through the antennas of NASA’s Deep Space Network, marked the final time the mission team would be working together on Ingenuity operations.

The team enjoyed some “Final Comms” chocolate cake while reviewing the latest data from over 189 million miles (304 million kilometers) away. The telemetry confirmed that a software update previously beamed up to Ingenuity was operating as expected. The new software contains commands that direct the helicopter to continue collecting data well after communications with the rover have ceased.
