Optical Probe Test

Overview

A research and development department needed custom automated measurement software to control and monitor an experiment.  They needed the software to communicate with a Infrared Spectrometer, Optical Reflectance Probe, a Temperature Controller, and a Pressure Controller.  The software also needed to control a 3 axis motor drive.  The experiment also had to run in an automatic and manual mode, and save the acquired data for analysis.

Solution

We developed a custom LabVIEW program that communicated with all the necessary specialized lab equipment.   Some of the equipment was so specialized we needed to develop custom LabVIEW drivers.  The software could run the experiment automatically,  allowing the technicians to perform other tasks while the experiment was running.  We saved the data from the experiment in a .tdms format for analysis by National Instruments Diadem.
